Situated at the very heart of the Three-Border region in the southern Bavarian Forest, the VILLA BREITENBERG opens up behind its impressive granite façade – in earlier days home to a country doctor including an adjacent coachman’s cottage: Inside the VILLA BREITENBERG, you can soak up the atmosphere of a historic building, where different styles are skillfully combined, always surrounded by the outstanding natural beauty of the Bavarian Forest, beautiful starlit nights with a sunrise that will take your breath away and a big portion of warm-hearted hospitality.

The extensive garden offers numerous possibilities for retreat around the house, ideal for undisturbed conversations or reading in a quiet hour, it also provides more than enough space to do sports or playing games and to observe the flora and fauna close-up: deadwood hedges with wild roses, anthills (by red wood ants), bee hives, herb beds, thistles and nettles, a Mediterranean rockery, habitats for lizards, cornel cherry trees and berry bushes and many more – all these things bring a lively diversity to our garden and deliver a wealth of sensory experiences. A kaleidoscope of colours- from kitchen garden to wildflower meadows – blooms from February till November and provides habitat for numerous wildlife species and plants. We consistently abstain from using chemical and synthetic fertilisers and pesticides, though admittedly, this needs in turn be compensated for by lots of handwork.

From 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., you can enjoy our exclusive and cosy sauna by reservation – with breathtaking views across the Bohemian Forest. It offers convenience at the highest level for 2 (max. 4) persons, we will provide you with bathrobes after booking your sauna time. Please help yourself to free fruit and water. (20 euros/person for 2 hrs.)
